South Korea's U-17 women's national team defeated Indonesia to shake off the aftermath of the crushing defeat against North Korea.

South Korea, led by head coach Kim Eun-jung, beat Indonesia 12-0 in the second Group A match of the 2024 Asian Football Confederation AFC U-17 Women's Asian Cup in Bali, Indonesia, on the 9th.


South Korea, which lost 0-7 to North Korea in the first round, recorded its first win of the tournament. South Korea, which has one win and one loss, ranks second in the group after North Korea, which has six points.


In this tournament, eight countries will compete in two groups of four teams, with the first and second place in each group having a semifinal tournament. The first to third place will play at the FIFA U-17 World Cup in the Dominican Republic in October.


Korea scored the first goal 13 minutes into the game. Won Joo-eun Hyundai High School hit a cross that the opponent team's goalkeeper hit. Kim Hyo-won Gwangyang Girls' High School who caught the ball hit the net with her left foot. Korea continued its offensive in the second half. Wonju scored three goals in the second half alone, and Baek Ji-eun scored two, Kim Ye-eun Ulsan Hyundai High School and Seo Min-jeong Gyeongnam Robot High School both scored.
South Korea won the U-17 World Cup back in 2010, but has not made the finals since then. It played in the U-17 World Cup again in 2018, but was eliminated from the group stage and failed to make the finals again in the 2022 tournament.
South Korea will play its third group match against the Philippines on the 12th.
