Description

Disregarding ICAI material: Ignoring ICAI’s study material and practice manual would not be an intelligent decision. You can complete the entire syllabus from any reference book but reference to the ICAI's material is critically important as the questions are examination-based. If you notice clearly, more than 90% of the exam comes from the study material provided by the institute. Thus disregarding it is not a good idea and if you do so, despite all your efforts, there is a possibility that you will not be able to achieve your goal of clearing the exam. Thus, it is advisable to complete your study material first and then focus on some other material for reference purposes only. Some of the institutes offers the ca foundation pendrive classes which you can use for concept strengthening.

Loosing Focus :It is quite intelligible that the CA examinations are majorly different and more demanding than the usual post graduate or under-graduate examinations. Hence, the approach used by the CA students in terms of learning and training is highly distinct and more professional than an ordinary overnight study. Students should be open-minded and sound enough to judge which material is relevant for them and focus on that particular material only. The course may be exhausting and to increase focus, you might have to take frequent breaks (take a walk, try meditating, or listening to music, etc.) to come to the right mood for studying.

Not considering Past Exams: Past papers are an important tool for revision, allowing students to check how their revision is going and to assess areas for improvement. Just doing the questions, perhaps under timed conditions, and consulting the marking scheme is useful.

One of the simplest ways to prepare for the exams is to manage your study according to a well-defined timetable and allot time to every subject.

During the preparation, it is always good to go through the past exams and have a meaningful discussion with your fellows about it. It is a general observation that examiners make minor changes in their way of asking questions every year. It is a good practice to compare the questions of the examiners because it will give a better idea about what the examiner is looking for in the exam.

Light Mental Attitude :You should always keep your mind lighter in an examination mode and direct all your mental and physical activities towards preparing for the examination. The seriousness that you put in the examination will arouse in you self-motivation that will take you a long way in achieving your goal. Avoid procrastination at all times.

If you want to score good marks, the first and the foremost thing is not to take things casually or lightly as it can create a negative impact on your preparation. It is very important to make up your mind to get serious about things and prepare accordingly. A casual attitude not only isn’t good for studies but it is not good for anything whatsoever. So, take things seriously and try to give your best in everything.

Lack Proper planning :One of the top and fatal consequences of poor planning is failure. If you are not properly planning for your preparation, you are deliberately ‘planning to fail’ and God too can’t help you. It is carelessness, lack of seriousness, and attitude of procrastination combined that drags you towards your failure. This result is something that should be avoided at all costs.

With that hindsight, here are the top three reasons why good planning is essential for a project’s successful execution:

1) Planning is the foundation on which you base the project execution. A good planner will always achieve his goals on time.

2) Good planning will ensure that the every resource is effectively utilized. You must plan intelligently which material you will use or refer in particular chapter.

3) Improper planning will result in the assignment of redundant tasks, thus increasing the efforts more alongwith the time taken.
