It takes the former to stand up to a whole squad of well-armed fools in the police force; it requires the latter to prevail. Although Pierre's performances in "Brother" and "The Underground Railroad" have left a lasting impression, I believe this is the strongest performance to date from the actor on HD Movies Soap2Day. Above all, "Rebel Ridge" serves as a reminder of just how exciting it can be to witness a genre work of this caliber of artistic excellence. It's consoling to know there's a filmmaker out there named Jeremy Saulnier who knows how, as we exit a movie season that's frequently centered around sheer escapism and enter the time of year when films with serious subject matter compete for awards attention.
