Description
In Spellbound 2024, King Solon and Queen Ellesmere are aesthetically portrayed as monsters, but the underlying concept the film refers to is clearly read between the lines. In fact, parents who lose sight of their role become "monsters" in a metaphorical sense, simply because they undergo such a change that they become almost unrecognizable in the eyes of their children. Add to this the reversal of their respective roles, and the fact that they have become almost enemies to their children, realizing that they have lost their most important reference point, giving the monstrosity of existence. Elian's action of trying everything to change things is an invitation to dialogue and, if necessary, to apply pressure by addressing the problem first. It is the children who have to take the first step to "break this evil spell", especially when the parents are not actually aware of what they have created in their own way.
