Description
In 1980s Ireland, a coal merchant from a small town reflected on his own childhood experiences. It becomes intrigued by a convent where young women appear to endure a difficult life. He watches closely and gradually starts to question the situation. As he strives to raise his daughters with independence, he grows increasingly concerned that the convent may be abusive. Cillian delivers a remarkable performance, capturing the silences and pain of the characters with a depth of humanity that elevates the Small Things Like These Flixtor film. While the movie could have taken a darker turn, the conclusion feels abrupt and uplifting. Although the storyline might have benefited a bit more development, my minor critique only results in a single-star deduction.
