Description
As a young lady, Charlotte Epstein instructs her and her elder sister Meg in formal swimming training. Trudy was the most successful swimmer since she kept becoming better at the sport and even managed to make an impression on everyone on Young Woman and the Sea in Afdah Movies. She quickly starts competing in the local swimming events, smashing records and taking home medals, which eventually leads her to the 1924 Olympics in Paris. Next, she takes on her greatest challenge to date: swimming the English Channel, a feat no woman has ever done before. The film tackles the bygone period in which male-dominated swimming activities are the scene of chauvinism. Rønning doesn't sugarcoat the harsh truth of how women were blatantly disregarded in swimming contests at the time.
