Description
Character drama is just as compelling here as in live-action movies. This is mostly because of Kamiyama's deft narrative and his juxtaposing intense action sequences with poignant moments. I commend the animation crew for their masterful staging of the expansive Middle-earth landscapes! How well these graphics evoke the original WETA designs of clothes, weapons, architecture, and cultural artifacts! The particularly rich backgrounds and colors greatly contribute to the framing of Rohirric themes of revenge lust and unrequited love. The foley and sound design are excellent!
