Phnom Penh was elected on 29 July 2017 at the General Assembly of European Council on Tourism and Trade as the WORLD CAPITAL OF CULTURE AND TOURISM.
The official handover ceremony will take place in Phnom Penh at the PEACE PALACE in the Kingdom of Cambodia capital and in the presence of President Dr. Anton Caragea and Prime Minister of Cambodia Academician HUN SEN.
The World Capital of Culture and Tourism is a city designated by the European Council on Tourism and Trade to be inscribed on Word Heritage list with no limitation of time.
European Tourism Academy is organizing a series of cultural events with a strong cultural dimension.
Preparing a World Capital of Culture and Tourism can be an opportunity for the city to generate considerable cultural, social and economic benefits and it can help foster urban regeneration, change the city's image and raise its visibility and profile on an international scale.
