NC Dinos' Son As-seop (35) became the first player in KBO history to record 150 hits in eight consecutive seasons.
Son started as the No. 1 designated hitter against the Lotte Giants in the 2023 Shinhan Bank SOL KBO League at NC Park in Changwon, Gyeongnam, 한국야동 on Sept. 9 and hit a single to left field against Lotte's Park Se-woong in the second at-bat of the third inning.
The single gave Son 150 hits for the season, his eighth consecutive 150-hit season dating back to 2016 when he was with Lotte.
He is the first player in the KBO to record 150 hits in eight consecutive seasons.
Previously, 성인웹툰the retired Park Yong-taek recorded 150 hits in seven consecutive seasons from 2012 to 2018.
The hit also gave Son 200 RBIs for the season. It was his 11th consecutive 200-RBI season since 2013, second all-time behind Lee Dae-ho (2005-2011, 2017-2020).
If Son reaches 200 runs next season, he will become the first player in history to reach 200 runs in 12 consecutive seasons.
With 2,379 career hits to date, Son is second on the all-time list behind Park Yong-taek (2,504), and at his current pace, he should be able to break the record next year.
