Former AS Roma (Italy) manager Jose Mourinho could face off against Son Heung-min (Tottenham Hotspur) in the Premier League.
Former AS Roma boss Jose Mourinho is on the shortlist to become the next West Ham United manager, according to British outlet TeamTalk.
"Mourinho has been strongly touted as David Moyes' successor this summer after the Englishman was heavily criticized following his side's UEFA Europa League defeat to Leverkusen," the outlet reported.
"Moyes became a West Ham legend after guiding the Hammers to the UEFA Europa Conference title last season. However, despite continuing to compete for European football next season, Moyes is not supported by everyone at the club, with his style of play being criticized and a very defensive game against Leverkusen."
Moyes is out of contract at West Ham at the end of the season. "Many fans feel that the club are thinking about bringing in a new manager who can get the best out of the talented squad," the outlet said, predicting that the club will appoint a new manager without renewing his contract.
Mourinho was then mentioned as a possible candidate.
"The search for a new manager is being led by technical director Tim Steyn. The Hammers are hoping Julen Lopetegui and Graham Potter will succeed him," but in the last day or so, Mourinho has been linked with a move to the London Stadium.
Mourinho, who has been on a break since being sacked in January after leading Italy's AS Roma, said in an exclusive interview with European soccer journalist Fabrizio Romano on March 27: "I'm ready to start again," he said.
"When you finish your work at the club, you need to rest and think," Mourinho said. But one day after I stepped down, I was ready to start working. I'm strong and good. I love my work and I'm really ready. But I don't want to make the wrong choice."
If Mourinho does return as West Ham manager next season, it will be his first return to the Premier League in four seasons after the 2020-2021 campaign.
Mourinho has been at Tottenham for just over a year and 스포츠토토 a half, taking over from Mauricio Pochettino in November 2019. He has played 86 games in all competitions for Spurs, winning 45, drawing 17 and losing 24, or 1.77 points per game.

This season, Mourinho was sacked after a poor run in Serie A that saw them slip to ninth place (8 wins, 5 draws, 7 losses, 29 points). Roma are now up to fifth place (16 wins, 7 draws, 8 losses, 55 points) with club legend Daniele De Rossi at the helm.
