What I liked most about Hokum was the absence of conventional scares and reliance solely on fear-building mechanisms. The plot is based on the story of author Ohm Bauman who goes on vacation in Ireland where he starts investigating the mysterious events associated with local legends. Throughout the whole process the protagonist comes across some peculiar information and learns things which force him to question everything he knew before. Additionally the film creates suspense through its atmosphere and unexpected revelations.
