Description

The 10th Annual International Bon Scott Festival will feature AC/DC tribute bands from Germany, Switzerland and Spain and also a performance by one of the bands first drummers, Tony Currenti. On Saturday 30th April will also see the final unveiling of the life sized statue of Bon in the town.

BOnfest 2016: essential infos

Bonfest 2016 marks the 10th anniversary of the rock music festival in honour of AC/DC's Bon Scott. It takes place in Bon's Scottish hometown of Kirriemuir.
As well as the 10th anniversary it will also see the unveiling of a life sized bronze statue of Bon in the town.
The festival features the best tribute bands from all over Europe, playing this year we have BACK:N:BLACK from Switzerland, Chaman from Spain, BON The AC/DC Show from Germany and all the way from Australia, the drummer on AC/DC's High Voltage album, Tony Currenti, who will perform the whole High Voltage album with the group Pure/DC
We also have several special guests over the weekend. Drummer on the Rock or Bust video Bob Richards will be in town. Special friend of Bon, and co-author of the new memoir "Live Wire" Mary Renshaw will take part in a Q&A session. Finally our star guest is the legendary bass player Mark Evans. Mark played on 5 of the classic Bon era albums, and was a close personal friend of Bon. Mark will also host a Q&A and will be playing a few songs over the course of the weekend too.
As well as our three evening concerts there is three days of free live music in local pubs, a record fayre and a custom Harley show.
All in all this will be a weekend that AC/DC fans and lovers of rock will not want to miss!
