Barre and centre exercises to help build strength and confidence for pointe work. Classes are for dancers aged 13 years and up (including adults), already on pointe or just working towards it as all the exercises can be done on demi-pointe. They are fun and challenging for beginners on pointe through to experienced dancers.
Wear whatever you like for this class as long as it's comfy and not restrictive. Ballet wear is always recommended. Some of the exercises are designed for bare feet so if you are wearing tights make sure they're the convertible kind so you have instant access to your toes. Exercises are a mix or demi-pointe and pointe so if you're not dancing on pointe yet you can still join in with everything, just bring some ballet shoes. The lesson actually starts off-pointe so please don't enter with your pointe shoes on (just to save you the trouble of having to take them off). One last thing -please bring a hand towel with you (its for foot exercises).
Please arrive at least 5 minutes early to register. If you need to change at the centre you must use the changing facilities provided but you can bring belongings and valuables into the studio with you. Always inform the teacher at the start of the lesson if you have any injuries.
