Ballet exercises are performed sitting/lying on a mat to improve alignment, core strength, control and technique. Includes stretching for flexibility. Classes are for dancers aged 13 years and up (including adults) who have a good understanding of ballet.
Wear whatever is comfy -that might be ballet leotard and tights or just sweat pants and a tee, as long as it doesn't restrict your movement. Make sure your knees, feet and ankles are covered (ballet tights or socks pulled up is fine) otherwise friction from the floor may hurt! Bring along leg warmers for extra comfort. You can also bring your own yoga mat if you prefer otherwise one will be provided.
You don't need ballet shoes for this class (it's actually better without them on). And just one last thing -you might want to avoid wearing your hair in a bun or a tight ponytail at the back of your head as a lot of these exercises are done lying down.
Please arrive at least 5 minutes early to register. If you need to change at the centre you must use the changing facilities provided but you can bring belongings and valuables into the studio with you. Always inform the teacher at the start of the lesson if you have any injuries.
